A practical study plan for Ghana nursing licensure
Plan nursing revision around your approved syllabus, short practice sessions and a record of mistakes.

Start with your programme
The Nursing and Midwifery Council conducts licensing examinations for nurses, midwives and nurse assistants. Your programme matters: a revision plan for general nursing is not automatically the right plan for mental health or community nursing. Confirm your programme and current examination instructions with your institution and the Council before choosing practice material.
Make a usable topic list
Use your approved syllabus and lecture objectives as the master checklist. For each topic, mark whether you can explain the main idea, recognise a common scenario and justify a safe next step. Start with areas you cannot yet explain. The app’s topic list is a revision aid; it is not a replacement for your official syllabus.
Use a repeatable study session
For a manageable session, read one short section of your course material, close it and explain the idea aloud. Then answer a small set of questions. Spend at least as much attention on the explanations as on the score. If an explanation conflicts with your approved teaching material, record the discrepancy and ask your tutor.
Keep an error notebook
Write the topic, why you chose the wrong answer and the rule you will use next time. Separate gaps in knowledge from misreading a stem. For example, missing the word “first” is a different problem from not understanding the procedure. Return to these entries before starting another large question set.
Move into mixed practice
After studying individual topics, mix them. Choose a session length you can finish and review without rushing. Use a timed mock to practise pacing, then turn each uncertain or incorrect answer into a specific revision task. An app score or practice target does not predict a council result.
Check the official instructions
Use the Council’s current notices and your school’s instructions for eligibility, registration, documents, dates and examination arrangements. Do not rely on a study app for last-minute administrative changes.
